New Federal Heat Pump Rebate: What Wasaga Beach Homeowners Need to Know
The Government of Canada has announced a new National Heat Pump Rebate Program, designed to help homeowners make the switch to energy-efficient electric heating. Backed by a $2-billion federal investment, the program aims to make eligible heat pump systems more affordable for Canadian households.
Eligible homeowners may qualify for a rebate of up to $10,000, depending on household income. Other eligible households may receive a $2,000 rebate. The program is intended to help homeowners replace existing heating systems with eligible cold-climate air-source heat pumps, providing efficient heating and cooling in one system.
Is Your Home Eligible?
The rebate will be available for eligible heat pump systems included on the program’s approved product list. Homeowners will need to meet the program’s eligibility requirements, and the amount available will depend on their circumstances.
The federal government has announced plans for an online application process, with approvals expected within 24 hours. Homeowners should confirm the program’s official launch date, eligibility requirements and application procedures before committing to an installation.
